what is the

Studio 61 Dance Company offers a Student Leadership Program to a group of selected dancers that demonstrate responsibility, excellent communication skills and have an overall positive attitude. The program was created to empower dancers that show and demonstrate strong leadership skills in and out of the dance studio. Students who are chosen for this position are a true representation of what Studio 61 Dance Company stands for and will continue to inspire the future generations to come.

A Student Leader is someone who reflects the characteristics and expectations of a Studio 61 Instructor. Not only are they able to lead a room but they are trusted to lead a room from their experience and maturity.

leader in training

A Leader In-Training is someone who shows responsibility,  independent decision making and is an overall positive role model. They are still gaining new experiences in the classroom and are constantly striving to reach beyond what is expected.

basic requirements

  • Must be 12+ years old
  • At least one year of dance training at Studio 61 Dance Company.
  • Able to commit to availability requirements for that season.
  • Shows responsibility, independent decision making, strong communication and is an overall positive role model!
